For many patients, elective surgery has been postponed through 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus restrictions. Those patients, however, should seriously consider getting surgeries done that they have postponed through the year in order to take advantage of the year-end deductible. The year-end for some plans ends in October, but for most ends December 31st. If your condition requires elective surgery, paying attention to the timing of your year-end deductible can be a situation that could save you thousands of dollars.
There are two scenarios here. Some patients have already paid most of their deductible down and having a surgery before the end of the year plays to their financial advantage as postponing surgery until after December 31st would put them in a situation to have to begin paying down their deductible in full.
Conversely, there are patients who have had a very healthy year and have paid very little against a deductible but still need an operation. For those patients, it may be in their best interest to postpone surgery until after the New Year when other healthcare expenses may arise through the year.
Please refer to your plan documents to find out which scenario may work to your best interest.

Health is achieved by balancing the body, mind, and spirit and medication provides a way to achieve this balance. Medication results in many physiological changes including the reduction of inflammation in the body. Several studies have proved that mindfulness meditation can be a useful treatment of pain syndromes. Meditation has proved that through the regular practice of meditation one can change the perception of pain. Meditation develops our capacity for detached observation and helps us to spate our experience of physical sensations from the pain and emotions that are generated in reaction to those sensations.
